01Lead with what you did, not just your title

04The evidence formula: action, scale, outcome
The strongest resume bullets carry three parts: what you did (a real verb — led, built, negotiated, migrated, not "was responsible for"), at what scale (team size, budget, user count, transaction volume), and to what outcome (a number, a delivered thing, a measurable change). "Managed social media" gives an extraction step nothing to cite; "grew the company LinkedIn following from 2,000 to 15,000 in a year, generating a third of inbound demo requests" gives it evidence for marketing execution, growth, and commercial awareness in one sentence. You won't have a number for everything — a shipped project, a process that outlived you, or a person you trained who got promoted are all outcomes too. The test for every bullet: could a stranger tell what would have not happened without you?
05Worked example — the same experience, weak then strong
Weak: "Responsible for customer service and handling complaints. Skills: communication, problem-solving, CRM software." Strong: "Resolved 40-60 support tickets daily across email and phone for a 12,000-customer SaaS product, maintaining a 94% satisfaction rating; wrote the escalation playbook the 6-person team still uses." Identical job, identical person. The first version forces both the semantic extraction and any human reader to guess; the second cites its own evidence. Notice what the strong version doesn't do: no keyword list, no jargon, no exaggeration — just specifics.
